A national survey conducted on behalf of the Financial Planning Standards Council (FPSC) has found that worries about money plague Canadians’ minds on a daily basis. That isn’t surprising given that respondents felt that the economy had gotten worse and their own financial situation had stalled or deteriorated over the past 5 years. Add in the sobering knowledge that many could only stay afloat for less than a month after a job loss and you have a pressure-cooker of anxiety. FPSC wants Canadians to know that engaging in financial planning with a qualified professional can help alleviate those worries. Source: H+K Strategies conducted a national survey of 855 Canadians from across the country between July 22 and August 5, 2016. Final survey data were weighted according to Census figures based on age, gender and region in order to obtain a representative sample of the Canadian population. For comparative purposes, a random sample of 855 respondents would yield a margin of error of +/-3.3%, 19 times out of 20.
